Dancing Moon Memory

A nostalgic mountain stares at the tree.
A tree peers into the distant mountain.
Above, the moon dances and shimmers.

This is a painting from last fall. I really like the simplicity of the composition. It spawned many other paintings for me, focusing on structure and how each entity interacts with another. It’s so nostalgic, a feeling of timelessness.

Nostalgic

Nostalgic “Nostalgic” is the second painting of my Moon Phase Series.  It is a textural painting depicting an enchanted moment between the observer of the moon.  The crescent moon above while the setting sun below creates a magic hour of contemplation and quiet stillness.  Memories flood forth and invites you to remember.

Day 98, Radiating Serenity

Day 98, Radiating Serenity Day 98 of 2009 Project 100. Coming to a close for project 100 and a sense of peace  was filling my heart and soul.  Striving to live a life of balance and live a zen-like peace of mind, this painting portrays calm, fulfillment and serenity.

Currently, this painting is being displayed at the 3rd Street Flats in McMinnville, Oregon as featured art for one of their rental units themed, “Cultured”.

Day 91, Today is New

Day 91, Today is New Framed Day 91, Today is New Day 91 of 2009 Project 100.  Living on a mountain top with breathtaking views of the coastal range and the Cascades gives me the opportunity for great inspirations.  On clear days, it seems I can see forever.  It’s a great reminder that each day is a “new day” to be cherished and enjoyed.

This painting has been mounted onto one of my hand-made custom frames.  The wood frame has been prepped and ready to hang on your wall.

Day 87, Moon Glow at Alborz Canyon

Day 87, Moon Glow at Alborz Canyon Day 87 of 2009 Project 100.  I love the moon and the cavernous canyons.  It reminds me of adventures in camping out in the dessert and being open to the great outdoors.  I also happen to love watching the full moon and this was a great opportunity to depict both.

This painting is in a hand-made custom frame, built by me.
